Basics

Carsten Schmitz is 36 years old - he lives and works as an IT project leader in Hamburg, Germany and can be reached at carsten.schmitz [at]] limesurvey.org. He likes movies, extreme hiking und geocaching - though his rare spare time is mostly dedicated to his fiance.

History

Carsten originally joined the LimeSurvey project as a translator in 2004, but gradually started working more and more on bugfixes and support.

In February 2005 Carsten started to take over the lead project role and in 2006 the full project was transferred to him by the original founder Jason Cleeland. (At the time LimeSurvey was named PHPSurveyor).

Carsten later renamed the project to LimeSurvey and is now pushing LimeSurvey further in the direction of a highly professional survey tool.
