Versienummering

Als je de versienummering wilt begrijpen, moet je onthouden dat versie 2.06 is voorafgegaan door 1.92, 2.00 en 2.05. LimeSurvey 2.06 is ons "startpunt", omdat dat de eerste versie is waarop ook een LTS-versie is ontwikkeld. Daarom hebben we nu een:

• LTS-versie: 2.06LTS. Op 24 oktober 2016 hernoemd naar 2.6.x. Deze versie zal worden ondersteund tot de lancering van de volgende LTS-versie.
• Up-to-date versie. De eerste bijgewerkte versie na 2.06 was 2.50, die is uitgebracht op 2 februari 2016. Sindsdien zijn er releases geweest van LimeSurvey 2.6xx en 2.7xx. Na de laatste 2.7x-release is op 22 december 2017 LimeSurvey 3 uitgebracht.

Verschillen

All three major LimeSurvey versions described below use different template engines. This means that a template created for LimeSurvey 2.06 cannot be used in LimeSurvey 2.73 or LimeSurvey 3, and a template created in 2.73 cannot be used in LimeSurvey 3.

Why did you change the template engines and make them incompatible?

1. LimeSurvey 2.50 (now 2.73) introduced responsive default templates, and we had to change the HTML to support this addition.
2. LimeSurvey 3 introduced a Twig template system and a template inheritance system, which are not compatible with older HTML-based templates.

Please note that the Template editor was renamed in LimeSurvey 3, being called now Themes.

How to upgrade

If you wish to upgrade your installation, you can either upgrade it manually or use the ComfortUpdate.

Long-term support (LTS)

With the release of the next LTS version which will be based on LimeSurvey 3, no more support will be provided to any other old LimeSurvey version, including the LimeSurvey 2.6.xLTS.
